Our early childhood program provides an enriching, educational setting for children to grow and thrive in. Our full day hours make it possible for parents to go to work and know that their child is in a safe and loving environment.

Early childhood and breakfast program classrooms located in the Landmark Building open at 7:15 AM and close at 6:30 PM. After-school located at the Landmark Building and St. Stephen’s Church conclude at 6:30 PM as well. The after-school program located at Daly Elementary School closes at 6:30 PM.

Transportation is provided to our afterschool programs as well as from our breakfast program to the local elementary schools through our collaboration with the Port Washington School District. There is no transportation available for our early childhood program.

The Port Washington Children’s Center is a non-sectarian program which provides care for children of families who either reside or are employed in Port Washington.

In our full day program breakfast, lunch and snack are provided; after-school children are provided with snack.

The children that attend our early childhood classes are given a rest time; our youngest children nap from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. As the children approach the four year old level naps are shorter in duration and some children will just rest quietly with a book.

The center closes for eleven legal holidays and two transitional days; please see our center calendar.

The Children’s Center has a contract with Nassau County Department of Social Services which has a program for families that meet their financial requirements. The center also provides scholarship assistance for families that do not qualify for county aide. In addition, we partner with Childcare Aware of America, a program which offers military families Fees Assistance when paying for childcare.
